5 Beach Activities for Kids
Are you visiting the beaches of 30A this year with your children? If yes, you might be wondering how best to keep them occupied while you enjoy the relaxation that comes with lounging on the beach. There are multiple beach activities for kids that won’t break the bank. This way, you get to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand without worrying about what to do next. Each of the activities listed below are full proof in making your Gulf Coast getaway memorable. Make sure to pack sunscreen! The Florida sunshine is powerful, and you don’t want a sunburn to keep you from enjoying your stay. These activities also make for some sweet pictures. Snap photos throughout the day to give you something to look back on in the years to come.

Build Sandcastles
Have a competition of which family member can build the most extravagant castle. The sand toys that are meant to assist in building sandcastles are wonderful things to bring with you to the beach. Or, if you are going to the grocery store when you arrive, they will most likely have them there as well. These beach toys aren’t necessary, and you can build some beautiful sandcastles without them.
Throw the Football
Play a game of football! Teach your kids how to hold a football properly or just play a few games to help them stay active. This could be a wonderful memory for your kids. One great tip is if you get hot, walk out in the ocean to about knee or hip length and toss the football back and forth. This way you can stay cool while enjoying the activity.
Bring a Small Blowup Pool
If you have young ones who can’t swim yet, bring a small blowup pool to the beach. This might sound strange at first, but it has its advantages. They get to enjoy the water without fear of them going too deep and it keeps them cool when they spend hours in the sun. You can also find these at many different grocery stores.
Rent Paddleboards
This is one of our favorite beach activities. Renting paddleboards allows you to travel a bit further out into the Gulf than if you were to swim. We recommend a parent going with children; however, teenagers can maneuver a paddleboard just fine. You could see different wildlife such as sea turtles or fish. It is also fun to surf the small waves on a paddleboard.
Lots and Lots of Snacks
Each vacation condo at Adagio comes with a fully equipped kitchen making it easy to prepare different snacks for the beach. We encourage you to pack a cooler with snacks, waters, and even Gatorade or Powerade for the electrolytes. The sun can be draining so having snacks to munch on throughout the day is very helpful.
What are your favorite beach activities for kids? We hope these spark some inspiration in how to fill your beach days with fun during your next trip.
